About Me

My name is Austin Hooper, and while I wouldn't call myself a professional photographer by any means, I am progressing and learning. I am 18 years of age and currently studying Software Engineering at UWTSD. Having always been fascinated by technology, I have recently developed an interest in DSLR Photography.

Most of my photography so far has primarily been macro/close-up work, as well as lots of animal photography. I have however spent a lot of my time trying to capture higher quality low-light and night shots, such as light trails and the stars. At the moment the lenses I use are a kit lens, as well as a Sigma telephoto lens - mounted on a Nikon D3400 body.

My interest in DSLRs came about mostly from curiosity. I saw what can be done on modern smartphones and wondered how much better I could do with something made specifically for photography. As it turns out, it was one of the best purchases I've made to date.
